Girl Strong:
An Empowerment Summer Camp

Girl Strong Empowerment Camp focuses on helping middle school-aged girls develop smart, effective strategies to manage the pressures and challenges during the turbulent years from middle school into adolescence. Utilizing strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Mindful Self-Compassion, we will explore the differences between good and bad stress, how to shield ourselves from the negative effects of social media, setting and maintaining healthy boundaries, and how to be more kind to ourselves. Other areas of focus will include assertive communication skills, time management strategies, and setting attainable goals. Our strong girls will build multi-modal coping tool kits from which they can draw during periods of stress, anxiety, social strife, or sadness.

Your girls will leave this camp feeling Girl Strong; reaffirmed in the amazing person they are developing into, with the resilience to take on life’s challenges.

Super Social Summer Boy’s Camp

Social interactions can be tricky, especially if you have ADHD or other executive functioning challenges. How do you start a conversation? What do you talk about? How do you know if someone is listening or if they’re bored? What makes a good friend? What’s the difference between being funny and being rude? What is personal space and do I need a rocket ship to get there?

Geared toward boys entering 2nd-5th grades, this camp will help boys understand the unwritten rules of social interactions to help them be successful in developing and maintaining friendships. Using fun activities and games, Dr. Jessica Hauser-Harrington delivers cognitive-behavioral techniques and mindfulness skills, focusing on strategies such as self-awareness, perspective-taking, and “if, then” scenarios to help predict possible outcomes for different social behaviors.

This group will offer many opportunities for role-playing and practicing social skills among group members, with real-time, supportive coaching from the group facilitators.
